Another year in the Baka Inaka

So I just started my third year, here in the countryside of Japan, that so many of us call-- the Baka Inaka, a.k.a. Fukui. Obviously, it's not so bad-- or i wouldn't have stayed so long. So get ready for more pics, comments, and bitching about my life here in Japan.

Vietnamese Drip

Coffee in Vietnam is awesome!

Vietnam had really great coffee and we couldn't get enough of it. It's usually brought to you in a short glass with a metal filter on it. You wait til the coffee slowly drips through and then you remove the filter, add some condensed milk (no one seemed to use fresh milk or cream) and enjoy!
Of course you can drink it black- but it's so strong wouldn't recommend it. Then again I usually know when my coffee is just right based on the color, I like my coffee light and sweet- doing that in Vietnam was a bit difficult because no matter how much condensed milk you add the coffee didn't lighten in color much. My friends kept laughing at me because I probably drank more condensed milk than coffee by the time I was done getting it just the right coffee hue.
